That’s how long it’s been since Erin Melkonian took over as Principal of Interior Services & Design, a 30-year-old Fresno staple for office furniture. But before earning her degrees from the Design Institute of San Diego and the University of San Diego, Erin was a girl from Fresno.
Coming Home
That was the driving force behind her move back to the Central Valley in 2014. After honing her skill-set in San Diego, she knew she had to bring some of that magic back to the place she called home – and Erin Melkonian Interior Design was born. With her acquisition of Interior Services in 2017, Erin can now meticulously (and masterfully) design your home and office.
The transition from home to office design made perfect sense to Erin. She had already gathered plenty of experience, including the redesign of her family’s business, the nearly 70-year-old Fowler Packing Company. She primarily furnished the business with her findings from Interior Services & Design (before she attained it).
Interior Services and Design
Today, Interior Services & Design is more than 30 years old and still growing. They’ve just installed a new 2,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art showroom filled with a variety of vignettes built for both home offices and commercial offices, which are now more interchangeable than ever.
Interior Services’ 20,000-square-foot warehouse is also stocked to the brim with pieces from over 30 brands, including their iconic Herman Miller Ethospace workstation system.
Erin and her expert design team understand that every office is unique. That’s why they offer their clients the opportunity to tailor any piece with the paint, textures and colors of their choice, in order to create items that are both functional and visually striking for their specific spaces.
“I get great joy in building relationships with clients and approach each design journey with equal excitement and curiosity,” says Erin. She constantly challenges the idea of what is standard and pushes the boundary of beauty with her uniquely designed interiors.
Her incredible designs are what led her to be inducted into the Business Street Online’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2017. “40 Under 40” recognizes outstanding business professionals, under the age of 40 years old, in the private and public sectors of Central California.
With a myriad of experience in interior design, four years of running her own home design firm and one year into leading a successful office design firm – Erin Melkonian has shown no signs of slowing down.
She’s in our homes and offices, continually sprinkling her magic across the Central Valley.
